Whether for a corporate event or child's birthday party, Boston Children's Museum offers the environment, spaces and services to meet the need.

For corporate events, the Museum is one of Boston's premier event venues, offering a unique, eclectic spin on event planning. Located in the heart of Boston's Innovation District, and situated right on Boston's Fort Point Channel, the Museum is within walking distance of the Boston Convention Center and offers some of the most breathtaking views of Boston's magnificent skyline. The Museum offers not only an outstanding location but a facility that assures a fun and enjoyable experience in an environment created for play and learning. The Museum hosts meetings, receptions, and dinners on a regular basis with catering managed by nationally renowned Restaurant Associates.

The entire facility includes three floors of exhibit space. Guests may access all exhibits and, if desired, museum staff will be available in the spaces to help with the exhibit experience.

Our dramatic Atrium, with its 40 foot glass windows, is the ideal space for receptions or seated dinners. This space has many interesting design features allowing for a variety of set-ups. During the warmer months, the Atrium windows may be opened to allow for outdoor seating and access to the patio which fronts Fort Point Channel.

The Museum is also the perfect place to host a memorable birthday party for a child.

Birthdays at the Museum include a private party room for 2 hours, with free Museum admission for the day for you and your guests. You will also have a birthday party coordinator assigned to assist you with your party.

Visit Open Studios

There are some great events coming up in September where you can visit artist studios all over Boston and buy work directly from artists. Go to: for all the info on each event. Also, many of the artists have links to personal pages from the Open Studio pages. I am participating in the South End and JP events and I know many other artists who are doing those - the work will be strong. Check them out!

Whiff of Scandal Wafts Over 1918 World Series

NYTimes Sports Sunday.
More than any other American sport, baseball has an established historical footprint, and among its significant early events is the fixing of the 1919 World Series by gamblers and the Chicago White Sox, a team forever labeled the Black Sox. It is the only recognized gambling scandal to tarnish a World Series.
In recent weeks, however, there has been new scrutiny of the previous year’s championship and questions about the legitimacy of the outcome: the Boston Red Sox defeated the Chicago Cubs. And on Friday, the Cubs visit Fenway Park in Boston for the first time since the final game of the 1918 World Series

Brush up on current events - even topics you might not typically read about.
Whenever I visit a city to see a client, I ALWAYS read up on the local sports (even though I am not a sports fan). You need discussion material. Don't try to fake anything. But, if you're in Boston, you better know even a little something about the World Series, etc.
Aviod politics - especially this year. Don't be tricked into that slippery slope.
Ask you host (who probably frequents the restaurant) which dishes they might recommend.
Dessert is always a tricky one - nothing worse than eating a fat slice of pie in front of somebody who's on a diet
