1-Day Boston to Rhode Island & Plymouth Tour  April 13, 2015 – 05:00 pm
Preplanned 1-day Boston City Guide

The tour starts in the morning from Boston to "America's Hometown", Plymouth. The Plymouth Rock, though a bit battered by time, remains a powerful tribute to courage of the 102 Mayflower passengers who founded the land, we know as New England in 1620. After Mayflower we will visit The 17th-Century English Village is a re-creation of the small farming and maritime community built by the Pilgrims* along the shore of Plymouth Harbor. In the Village, the year is 1627, just seven years after the arrival of Mayflower. The people you meet are costumed role players portraying actual residents of Plymouth Colony. On the tour you will also visit Wampanoag- a native American tribe. Here you'll discover how the 17th-century Wampanoag would have lived along the coast during the growing season. Unlike the people you’ll meet in the 17th-Century English Village, the staff in the Wampanoag Home site are not role players. They are all Native People - either Wampanoag or from other Native Nations - and they will be dressed in historically accurate clothing, mostly made of deerskin. After the tour at Plymouth, we will head to the America's smallest state Rhode Island but with the best ocean views. Start from National Historic landmark – Breakers Mansion in Newport County, this Mansion has a 45-foot high central Great Hall, arcades, many levels, and a covered, central courtyard. The rooms, decorated in French and Italian styles, were designed and assembled in Europe, shipped to the US, and reassembled in the house. Tour ends with return to Boston.

**Transportation via Deluxe Air Conditioned, Lavatory Equipped motor coach; Depending on the number of passengers this tour may be completed in a 15-seat High Top Mercedes Minibus**

Where to stay Boston for 4 adults (1 snr)?

My uncle (78) and 3 adult children plan on 5-7 day visit to Boston this May. Any suggestions for hotel, b&b, or short term rental? He is in good health but stairs are a hardship. It would be good to have a place that's centrally located so he could opt to "not go" on some sightseeing without feeling he's forcing them to not go too. They could get by with two queen beds but a suite type hotel or furnished short term rental would be better. I have considered hotels near Copley (expensive, esp for 2 rooms); someone suggested hotel in S Boston near Columbia Point t-stop. He grew up in Roslindale, something out that way might appeal but central Boston probably better
