The following pages provide just a selection of the interesting events and festivals held in New England for 2012/2013. Most events repeat on an annual basis with slightly different dates. For more information on each event, be sure to check the applicable website. Discover New England is not responsible for cancellations, changes in dates or venues.

Start of the year with sparkle at one of New England’s wine festivals, head for a winter carnival, or watch some top-notch skiing events.

February is all about chocolate and snow! Go on a chocolate and snowshoeing tour, see fantastic snow sculptures, participate or watch in fun winter sport competitions.

March in New England is maple sugar time! Visit Maple Sugar farms in Vermont and in other New England states, or warm up for Spring with a chili festival. Mid-month look for Irish celebrations for St. Patrick’s Day.

Three million daffodils, baby animals, beer festivals, Patriot’s Day and the famous Boston Marathon are all part of the fun in April in New England. For mountain fun, be sure to head to Sugarloaf Resort’s 25th Annual Reggae Festival for spring skiing and fantastic concerts in Carrabassett Valley, Maine.

Hello May! Time for flower festivals, a Taste of Bar Harbor, the famous Brimfield Antiques Show, a duckling parade in the Boston Public Garden, the Nantucket Wine Festival and much more.

Summer is here! Choose from over 40 major events and festivals in June – see fields of lupines in New Hampshire and Maine; jazz bands in Burlington, Vermont; chowder and strawberry fests.

See the Vermont Symphony orchestra play under a night sky, get bluesy at a festival in Maine or float in a hot air blue above Rhode Island. Read about more than 40 great New England events in July.

There are fantastic music festivals of all genres throughout New England in August – pick your favorite. Choose from lobster festivals, celebrated artisan crafts fairs and a festival of “fools” — international street performers from around the world.

Enjoy the beautiful September weather in New England with a road trip to the many fun events on offer: see historic ships, country fairs, food and wine festivals and more.

Early to mid October is peak foliage time in New England – a perfect time to explore winding roads to see the spectacular yellows, oranges and reds on the way to one of these New England events.

The fall foliage is gone, but the New England holiday season gets in full swing this month. This is a great time for museum hopping and lots of shopping — with side trips for special Thanksgiving celebrations and pre-Christmas and holiday festivities.

The holidays are magical in New England – sparkling town centers, festive celebrations, and with some luck, a White Christmas. Mix in fabulous shopping with these memorable December New England events. Catch Santa as he arrives by lobster boat or train, visit historic mansions decked out for the holidays, and be wowed by special performances — from the Rockettes to the Boston Pops. In the northern New England states, it’s ski time – winter fun is just getting started!
